As a school psychologist, I apply my knowledge of mental health, learning, human development, behaviour, and school systems to support the work of schools in enhancing student achievement, engagement, and wellbeing for learning.
My work is diverse and may involve working at different levels within the school community. This can include consulting with school staff to support whole-school initiatives, wellbeing programs, and student support processes. I may also work in consultation and collaboration with school staff, families and external agencies to help others meet a student's needs. And at other times, I work directly with students - this may involve conducting assessments and intervention planning and delivery. Whether working with students, families, staff, or the broader school community, my focus is always on identifying and reducing barriers to learning so that students can engage, achieve, and thrive at school.
